ARC Masonry Cleaner Technical Data Sheet
SYNTHETIC ACID MASONRY CLEANER
ARC Masonry Cleaner is the safest brick cleaner available. Our cleaner is powered by SynTech, the only acid replacement system proven safe in dozens of industries. SynTech dissolves efflorescence on mortar and concrete with the speed of hydrochloric (muriatic) acid. Still, all that potency comes with a triple zero HMIS score in The US.
ARC Masonry Cleaner is ideal for post-construction clean up, removing efflorescence, green vanadium, brown manganese, white scum, lime run, rust and mineral stains. It can also be used to prepare wood for refinishing.
When used according to instructions, run off water from your use of ARC Masonry Cleaner can be safely left on grass, plants and flowers. Always test a small area of each surface to be cleaned to ensure the product and the dilution suits your needs. Protect areas you do not want cleaned. This can be done with plastic and masking tape.
SURFACES TO AVOID:
Concrete – Unless you want to remove or etch it!
Galvanized metal – galvanized coatings are zinc carbonate and with its low pH, Masonry Cleaner reacts with the high pH of carbonate (calcium carbonate, is another example).
Anodized aluminium – again, the anodized coating cannot handle low or high pH extremes. If anodized aluminium is present, mask it off or dilute Masonry Cleaner with at least 4 parts water before use.
ARC Masonry Cleaner is safe on glass, painted surfaces, caulking, seals, plants, pets and you! If the product drifts onto a non-working surface, simply rinse with water.
ARC Masonry Cleaner works at all temperatures and can be diluted without concern for fumes or exothermic reaction. This also means it can be used on dry, damp or wet surfaces. The product is also freeze/thaw stable.

dissolving properties
Efflorescence Dissolving Properties with 2 Minute Exposure:
ARC Masonry Cleaner 100
Muriatic (Hydrochloric) 98.9
Test Conditions
454g of 20% active solution
1 sq. ft. paver stone with heavy efflorescence
2 Minutes@ 21° C
Clearly, ARC Masonry Cleaner outperforms other acids when it comes to dissolving efflorescence, including Muriatic (Hydrochloric) which is highly corrosive.
Separate tests also show that ARC Masonry Cleaner also dissolved nearly 15% more calcium oxide than Muriatic (Hydrochloric) acid.
